Techniques – what we will do, what people want to do, or have done.

Check out the technique time table and wanted list.
If you are coming to classes, could you please look at the list of wanted and techniques and see what you could teach and when.
This needs to be filled up so we can keep learning and that we all share the work load.
Give me 3 option dates (in case some of you pick the same month) - and I will fit you in to the timetable

Technique time – worth reading again to take the pressure out of sharing
We all take turns - this is a sharing time so it can be something you know very well OR that you are learning along with everyone else .. no pressure,
please, if you really don’t want to then don’t worry.
Something that was mentioned by 1 member, was that she felt that all she knew, everyone would already know, but as we talked about her technique we
realised she had a new different way of doing it and a couple of the starting artists had not even tried the technique at all.
So we all have much to learn and we all have so much to share.
Each member will only charge costs for the technique, eg photocopy notes, specialist supplies etc (based on the reason we will all be teaching and all
learning so no payment needs to be paid to teach)
When we get outside tutors, members who partake in that class will share the teachers costs.
=====================================================
Classes
There are many ways of sharing in this group 1 of them being teaching classes.
There is also bringing in new members, venue and exhibition information, contacts for our needs eg supplies,
TEACHING GUIDLELINES
The class can be something you know about or something you want to try
You don’t need to be an expert –
Trialling a new technique can also help share the costs as usually buying the supplies can be a high cost and you only need a little, so
this way you can share the cost with the other members.
When your class is due to be taught the next month send me an email with a list of supplies that people need to bring and/or what they need to
do to be prepared for class.
It will be great if you have handouts for the class or at least some background info you can pass to me so I can put on the email class notes
page.
Class notes just in black and white images and the email page version can have the colour and can be:
- photocopies of the notes you have gained from books or other classes – YOU MUST reference where you took the copies from
- or your own notes and pictures (take photos as you make the sample piece/s)

2014 Technique Timetable
I have sourced a teacher for encaustic wax painting and 1 for silk dyeing and am filling in forms for funding now.
Either way we will run these 2 workshops (1 day each later in the year)
I’ve also got a friend to help us with in depth training on photographing art and Margaret also has some techniques so that will be another day.
So really there are only 4 class spots left to fill -- first in first served – don’t all rush me haha
Another idea, was we all (who know how to quilt) teach 1 patchwork and 1 quilt technique, as a few people have mentioned wanting to learn basic quilting
I know how to cut 1 square into 8 triangle blocks and I’m sure some of you know something as well
Say maybe log cabin / quilt in the ditch / feather / crazy quilt etc etc sure we can come up with some ideas
The crazy quilt block could then be used the next month to practice some hand stitching?
If you can be involved in this then I will organise a day
SO - let me know if you can teach and what, and months that suit you
- Let me know what you want to learn
about patchwork (sewing the material together to make a pattern)
and quilting (the stitched patterns on the material)
